Join Hometown Opera Company for The Miller’s Daughter, a captivating one-act opera by Iowa composer Jodi Goble and Minnesota librettist Victoria Erickson, inspired by Franz Schubert’s beloved Die schöne Müllerin. Performed in English and set to Schubert’s timeless music, the opera follows a young woman determined to escape the expectations placed upon her and the young wanderer whose love for her becomes increasingly consuming. Filled with humor, romance, and memorable characters, the story ultimately unfolds into a powerful and moving tragedy.
